9 Days After the Cuban Missile Crisis.

 

U.S. plane shadows Russian ship with Cuban missiles returning to the Soviet Union when the Kennedy’s announce the Cuban missiles are now back in Russia. In their hast to bring closure to the Cuban missile crisis, not to damage JFK’s re-election, the Kennedy brothers agree to only a visual away from ship inspection of supposedly Soviet missiles returning to Russia. There will be no on-board physical inspections. The agreement is for the immediate return of Soviet missiles with no mention of the nuclear warheads.….then this happens.

Washington, November 6, 1962, 6:15 p.m.

JFK furiously interrupts the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Security Council. He’s calling attention to the days Evening Star newspaper hitting the newsstands with a disturbing front-page headline: “Exiles Tell of Missiles Still Hidden in Cuba Caves.”…..he has the story blocked, advising other news editors to check with him first before printing any such stories or he will shut them down.

                     As it turns out, Russian missiles and warheads were left in Cuba                                  .…then this happens 50 years later

PANAMA CITY, July 16, 2013 (Reuters) – Under 280,000 white sacks of sugar Panama authorities discover Russian MiG jets, mid-range missiles with launching and tracking radar. It all began in 2013 when a rusty North Korean freighter leaves the Pacific coast of Russia heading to Cuba.  After unloading more and more sugar sacks, a cache of Soviet made military armaments is found larger than first expected.

“We found storage bins containing 2 Cold War MiG jet aircraft with 15 spare jet engines. In other containers were found 2 mid-range ballistic missiles plus 9 Soviet anti-aircraft missiles with radar-control systems for these weapons.

The North Korean crew attempted to sabotage the ship’s electrical system and bilge pumps after Panamanian investigators stop the ship near the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal on suspicion it carries drugs after leaving Cuba.

It ends with a five-day violent standoff, between Panamanian marines and armed crew members with sticks ,whose captain tries to commit suicide by slitting his throat.

So the questions becomes:

Why is Cuba sending Russian made missiles on the North Korean ship, Chong Chon Gong, for upgrade?

Why did the Kennedys tell us all missiles were returned to the Soviet Union, ending the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis?
